The Wyoming Cowboys meet the Colorado State Rams Saturday in week 10 MWC college football action from War Memorial Stadium. Colorado State is fresh off a matchup versus Boise State. In that outing the Rams took a nine-point loss. As for the Cowboys, they played San Jose State last weekend. Wyoming would go on to lose by six in a tough one. Colorado State began the year at a 1-3 clip, with a win over Toledo mixed in between losses to South Dakota State, Vanderbilt and Iowa. The Rams would go on to win two versus San Jose State and New Mexico before falling 26-24 to Utah State.

Last weekend versus Boise State, the Rams had an early 13-0 lead but ultimately couldn’t hold it in a 28-19 defeat. QB Todd Centeio had 276 yards with a touchdown, and also led the rush with 65 yards. Trey McBride added 103 yards on 10 receptions as well.

Over on the Wyoming side, they started the season with four wins over Montana State, Northern IL, Ball State and UConn. The Cowboys hit the skids after that, falling to Air Force, Fresno State and New Mexico over their next trio of outings.

In the October 30 game versus San Jose State, Wyoming scored in three of four quarters but couldn’t keep up in a 27-21 loss. QB Levi Williams had 129 yards, two scores and two picks. Xazavian Valladay led the rushing attack on 172 yards from 22 carries.

The Rams are 2-8 ATS in the last 10 on turf and the under is 4-0 in their last four on the road. The under is 6-1 in Colorado State’s last seven overall as well.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys are 1-4 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 0-5 ATS in their last five overall. Wyoming is also 0-4 ATS in their last four conference games.

PICK: I’m going to try Wyoming here. The Cowboys only had a couple of bad defensive stretches in the San Jose State game, but the 238 rush yards and 6.6 yards-per-play average were enough to push Wyoming into the L column. On the other side the Cowboys did reasonably well producing with 400 total yards, 271 rush yards and 18 first downs.

As for the Rams, they gave up 430 yards and 27 first downs to Boise State but they weren’t too bad offensively either. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a higher-scoring game here, but I still like the Cowboys on a cover.
