The Texas State Bobcats meet the Georgia Southern Eagles on Saturday in week 11 Sun Belt college football action from TSU Bobcat Stadium. Georgia Southern played Coastal Carolina in their most recent outing. The Eagles ended up losing by 20 points there. As for the Bobcats, they’re coming off a game versus LA-Monroe. In that one Texas State put up an eight-point victory. Check back all season long for free college football picks at Sports Chat Place.

Georgia Southern went just 1-3 over their first four games, beating Gardner-Webb in the opener prior to losses versus Florida Atlantic, Arkansas and Louisiana. After a win over Arkansas State, the Eagles then lost to Troy, South Alabama and Georgia State.

Last weekend against Coastal Carolina, the Eagles coughed up 21 points in the second quarter alone during a 28-8 loss. QB Justin Tomlin managed 83 yards and an interception, while Khaleb Hood topped the receivers with 66 yards off five receptions.

Over on the Bobcats’ side, they also put up a 1-3 mark in their first four outings. Texas State lost to Baylor, beat FIU (OT) then lost to Incarnate Word and Eastern Michigan. The Bobcats beat South Alabama, then lost to Troy, Georgia State and Louisiana.

In the game versus LA-Monroe, Texas State scored a key touchdown in the fourth quarter to seal a 27-19 win. QB Tyler Vitt put up 262 yards with a touchdown, and Jahmyl Jeter finished with 92 yards and a TD on 16 carries. Marcell Barbee had 102 yards on five catches as well.

Georgia Southern is 4-10 ATS in their last 14 on turf and 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss. The Eagles are 1-4 ATS in the last five road games as well.

Meanwhile, the Bobcats are 6-1 ATS in their last seven in November and 4-1 ATS in their last five at home. Texas State is also 7-3 ATS in the last 10 conference games.

PICK: I’m going with Texas State. The Bobcats had a solid overall effort against UL-Monroe in their last game, with 434 total yards, 20 first downs and no turnovers. Texas State did give up quite a bit of offense—432 yards, 27 first downs and 11-of-22 on third downs—but

As for Georgia Southern, they couldn’t get much going against Coastal Carolina, posting just 233 total yards, 16 first downs and four turnovers during the game. The Eagles should look better here, but I think Texas State still has the edge on a potential cover.
