The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns meet the ULM Warhawks and the Saturday in week 13 Sun Belt college football action from Cajun Field. LA-Monroe matched up against LSU in their last appearance. The Warhawks ended up losing by 13 points. As for Louisiana, they’re coming off a game versus Liberty. In that one the Cajuns secured a blowout win. LA-Monroe went 3-3 over their first six games this year, collecting wins over Jackson State, Troy and Liberty. The Warhawks would win just one game in their next four (South Alabama), falling to App State, Texas State and Arkansas State otherwise.

On Saturday against LSU, the Warhawks were down 17-7 at halftime and couldn’t get any closer in a 27-14 loss. QB Rhett Rodriguez finished with 157 yards, one TD and one pick. Malik Jackson led the rush on 78 yards from 21 carries.

Over on the Cajuns’ side, they lost their opener to Texas but then hit an excellent win streak. Louisiana would take out Nicholls State, Ohio, GA Southern, South Alabama, App State, Arkansas State, Texas State, Georgia State and Troy from there.

The Cajuns played Liberty back on Saturday. In that one, Louisiana scored in every quarter on the way to a 42-14 blowout victory. QB Levi Lewis finished with 166 yards and three scores, and Emani Bailey added 60 yards rushing with a TD on 13 carries.

The Warhawks are 20-6 ATS in their last 26 on turf and 11-23-1 ATS in their last 35 overall. UL-Monroe is 16-33-2 ATS in their last 51 after a straight-up loss.

Meanwhile, the Cajuns are 4-1 ATS in their last five on turf and 4-1 ATS in their last five in November. Louisiana is 1-4 ATS in the last five after an ATS win.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Louisiana. The Cajuns weren’t exactly dominant on offense versus Liberty, with 296 yards and just 3-of-13 on third-down tries. That said, Louisiana got a huge defensive effort, coming up with six turnovers and holding the Flames to 4.1 yards per play.

As for UL Monroe, their offense was a bit tepid (4.7 yards per play) but not terrible (311 yards) against LSU. I’m not sure they’ll be able to keep up here, though.
