The FAU Owls and UCF Knights clash Saturday in week 3 college football action from FAU Stadium. UCF is fresh off a matchup versus Louisville. The Knights lost that one by six points. As for FAU, they played SE Louisiana in their last game. The Owls would go on to win in a blowout. Check back all season long for free college football picks at Sports Chat Place.

UCF kicked off their 2022 season versus South Carolina State and did well. The Knights rolled to a 28-3 halftime lead and eventually won 56-10 in a blowout. QB John Rhys Plumlee threw for 308 yards and four touchdowns while also lead the rush on 86 yards and a score.

UCF lost some steam in game two, despite jumping out to a 14-7 halftime lead versus Louisville. The Knights were outscored 13-0 in the second for a 20-14 loss. Plumlee had 131 yards and a pick in the defeat, and Javon Baker managed 84 yards off five catches.

Over on the Florida Atlantic side, they opened their season versus Charlotte back on August 27. The Owls took a 43-13 win in that one. In game two, FAU played Ohio. Despite 21 points in the fourth quarter the Owls fell short in a 41-38 loss.

In game three, the Owls took on SE Louisiana. In that matchup Florida Atlantic scored 21 points in the second quarter during a 42-9 win. QB N’Kosi Perry posted 259 yards with three scores and two picks. Zuberi Mobley and Larry McCammon combined for 271 rush yards and two scores.

PICK: I’m probably staying with Florida Atlantic in this one. The Owls had their offense working great (outside of the two picks) against SE Louisiana, tallying 631 total yards, 32 first downs and 7.2 yards per play. It’s been a pretty good showing for FAU over their first few games and I think they’ll keep it going here.
As for UCF, they’ve done reasonably well in their first couple of games despite running out of steam versus Louisville. The Knights were just 4-of-18 on third- and fourth-down tries in that one and racked up 11 penalties. I think they’ll bounce back and make this one interesting, though.
