The Louisville Cardinals and USF Bulls do battle Saturday in a week 4 college football contest from Cardinal Stadium.

The USF Bulls will look to rebound after a heartbreaking 31-28 loss to Florida last time out. At the time this article was written, Gerry Bohanon’s thrown for 391 yards and 2 interceptions on 58.6% passing while Brian Battle leads USF on the ground with 119 rushing yards in addition to a pair of scores. Jaren Mangham and Michel Dukes have combined for 5 rushing TDs as well this season. Xavier Weaver leads USF’s receiving group with 12 grabs for 170 yards as well this season. On defense, Mekhi LaPointe has a team-high 14 total tackles including 12 solo tackles and an interception while USF’s defense as a whole has combined for 4 sacks so far this season.

The Louisville Cardinals will try to bounce back from a 35-31 loss to Florida State last time out. At the time this article was written, Malik Cunningham’s thrown for 596 yards, a touchdown and 3 interceptions on 60% passing while also rushing for a team-high 282 yards and 3 scores. Tiyon Evans and Jawhar Jordan have combined for 276 rushing yards this season while Tyler Hudson has a team-high 15 grabs for 209 yards and Ahmari Higgins-Bruce has 160 receiving yards as well this season. On defense, Kenderick Duncan leads the Cardinals with 24 total tackles including 16 solo tackles while Benjamin Perry also has 16 solo tackles and YaYa Diaby and Ashton Gillotte each have a team-high 3 sacks.

USF is 2-11 ATS in their last 13 games following an ATS win and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a loss while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 conference games. Louisville is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 games following an ATS loss while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 home games.

I get the case to be made for Louisville here as a favorite, but as much as I like Malik Cunningham, he made a lot of costly errors in that Florida State game that handed the ‘Noles the win and while USF isn’t a world beater, they have forced a fair number of turnovers this season. Louisville hasn’t been lighting it up offensively consistently enough to warrant laying this kind of number so I’ll lean towards USF and the points here.
