The TCU Horned Frogs and Oklahoma Sooners clash Saturday in week 5 Big 12 college football action from Amon G. Carter Stadium. Oklahoma is fresh off a matchup versus Kansas State. In that one the Sooners fell in a seven-point upset. As for TCU, they played SMU over the weekend. The Frogs ended up winning by eight. Oklahoma stormed out of the gate this year versus UTEP, cruising to a 45-13 blowout win. The Sooners kept rolling with a 33-3 win over Kent State. In game three versus Nebraska, Oklahoma took another sizable win, taking it 49-14.

On Saturday versus Kansas State, the Sooners were down seven points after the first quarter and couldn’t make up the gap in a 41-34 loss. QB Dillon Gabriel notched 330 yards with four scores. Eric Gray was the top rusher with 114 yards on 16 carries.

Over on the TCU side, they opened up their season versus Colorado back on September 2. The Frogs didn’t have a ton of trouble in that one with a 38-13 win. Game two wasn’t too difficult for TCU either; that one was a 59-17 victory over Tarleton State.

Matched up against SMU, the Frogs were up 28-14 going into the second half and hung on for the 42-34 win. QB Max Duggan put up 278 yards with three scores, and Kendre Miller added 142 yards with one touchdown.

The Sooners are 4-0 ATS in their last four after an ATS loss and 6-2 ATS in their last eight in October. Oklahoma is 5-2-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record.

Meanwhile, the Frogs are 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight at home and 1-4 ATS in the last five in October. TCU is 1-6 ATS in their last seven conference games.

PICK: I’m going with Oklahoma. The Sooners are reeling after an upset loss to Kansas State. Oklahoma put up 550 total yards in that one with 7.5 yards per play and 26 first downs. That said, the Sooners went just 4-of-13 on third-down tries and committed 11 penalties in addition to giving up 509 total yards and 28 first downs to the Wildcats. It’s going to take a big turnaround to get prepared for TCU this weekend, but Oklahoma is certainly capable. I like an angry Sooners team to come in and take out their frustrations in a cover here.
