Rutgers had a close matchup versus Boston College right out of the gate this year, winning 22-21. Week two was a little easier with a 66-7 blowout win over Wagner, but game three against Temple was another close one. Rutgers ended up winning that one 16-14.

In the Iowa game back on Saturday, Rutgers gave up points in every quarter in a 27-10 loss. QB Evan Simon managed 300 yards with one TD and two INTs. Tops in receiving was Shameen Jones with 71 yards off five catches.

Over on the Ohio State side, they kicked off the year with a matchup versus Notre Dame and won 21-10. The Buckeyes kept it going in week two with a 45-12 win over Arkansas State. In the Toledo game, Ohio State went crazy on offense for a 77-21 blowout victory.

Matched up against Wisconsin, Ohio State was up 31-7 at halftime, scoring in every quarter during a 52-21 victory. QB CJ Stroud finished with 281 yards, five touchdowns and a pick. TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams combined for 222 rush yards and two scores as well.

PICK: I’m probably staying with Ohio State, but the line’s too thick to mess around with. It was another solid outing for the Buckeyes back on Saturday against Wisconsin. Ohio State put up 539 total yards in that one with 7.7 yard per play and 28 first downs. On the other side the Buckeyes held the Badgers to 296 yards and just 11 first downs. There hasn’t been much to complain about so far.

As for Rutgers, they fell victim to a good defensive effort from Iowa in their last game and couldn’t get much going. the Knights are going to have to start cooking on offense quickly if they’re going to stay in range here.
