The Rutgers Scarlet Knights and Indiana Hoosiers do battle Saturday in week 8 Big Ten college football action from SHI Stadium.

The Indiana Hoosiers will be looking to snap a four-game losing skid after their 38-33 loss to Maryland last time out, falling to 3-4 on the year. Connor Bazelak has thrown for 1,889 yards, 12 touchdowns and 8 interceptions on 54.6% passing while Shaun Shivers has rushed for 402 yards with 4 touchdowns and Josh Henderson has 211 rushing yards with 3 scores. Cam Camper has a team-high 41 catches for 526 receiving yards while Emery Simmons has 28 grabs for 305 yards and another pair of Hoosiers have 200+ receiving yards and three more have 100+ receiving yards. On defense, Aaron Casey has a team-high 55 total tackles while Cam Jones has 54 total tackles. Dasan McCullough has a team-high 4 sacks and Noah Pierre has 3 sacks as well on the year.

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights will try to snap their three-game losing skid after a 14-13 loss to Nebraska dropped Rutgers to 3-3 on the year. Evan Simon has thrown for 740 yards, 4 touchdowns and 6 interceptions on 57.7% passing while Samuel Brown V has a team-high 273 rushing yards with a pair of TDs and four other Scarlet Knights have 100+ receiving yards as well this season. Aron Cruickshank has a team-high 25 catches for 243 receiving yards with a pair of touchdowns while three other Rutgers receivers have 100+ receiving yards. On defense, Deion Jennings has a team-high 46 total tackles while Tyreem Powell has a team-high 3 sacks and Wesley Bailey has 2.5 sacks this year. As a whole, Rutgers’ defense has combined for 11 sacks and 8 interceptions this season.

Indiana is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games and 4-13 ATS in their last 17 games overall while the over is 12-5 in their last 17 games in October. Rutgers is 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games while the under is 9-3 in their last 12 games against a team with a losing record.

I get the reasoning for backing either side, or maybe I should say fading either side as I haven’t been fond of what either side has done over the last month. That being said, I’m really liking the under in this game as both sides have been dreadful offensively and while Indiana’s defense is bad, I don’t think Rutgers is in a spot offensively to take advantage of those shortcomings. Give me the under.
