The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and UTEP Miners do battle Saturday in a C-USA week 6 college football game from Joe Alliet Stadium.

The UTEP Miners will look to build on back-to-back wins after a 41-35 win over Charlotte in their last game to climb to 3-2 on the year. Gavin Hardison has thrown for 1,266 yards, 6 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on 52.7% passing while Ronald Awatt has a team-high 365 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the Miners on the ground and Deion Hankins has 277 rushing yards as well. Tyrin Smith has a team-high 33 grabs for 568 receiving yards with 4 touchdowns while Reynaldo Flores has 27 grabs for 320 receiving yards. On defense, Tyrice Knight has a team-high 52 total tackles and Kobe Hylton has 46 total tackles with Knight logging 31 solo tackles this season. Jadrian Tarloy also has a team-high 4 sacks and Cal Wallerstedt has 3 sacks.

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will try to bounce back after falling to 1-3 on the year with a 38-14 loss to South Alabama in their last game. Parker McNeil’s thrown for 901 yards, 8 touchdowns and 7 interceptions on 54.5% passing while Marquis Crosby has 248 rushing yards and 3 scores. Griffin Hebert leads the Bulldogs with 327 receiving yards and 3 TDs while Tre Harris has a team-high 20 grabs for 250 receiving yards and three more Bulldogs have 100+ receiving yards as well this season. On defense, Tyler Grubbs has 39 total tackles including a team-high 21 solo tackles while LA Tech’s defensive unit has combined for 5 sacks and 3 interceptions this season.

UTEP is 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games in October and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games following a win. Louisiana Tech is 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 conference games while the over is 7-1 in their last 8 games overall.

I get the case to be made for either side in this one, but I think the stronger play in this one is on the over. Neither side can really get the stops necessary to keep scoring down and LA Tech have given up at least 35 points to each of their FBS opponents this season. I think this is one of those games that gets to the high-50s, like a 30-27 or 31-27 kind of game, so give me the over in this one.
