The UCLA Bruins and the California Golden Bears meet Friday in college football action from California Memorial Stadium. UCLA is fresh off a matchup versus USC. In that game the Bruins took a close loss. As for California, they played Stanford back on Saturday. In that one the Bears won by seven points. UCLA beat Bowling Green, Alabama State, South Alabama, Colorado, Washington and Utah over their first six games before a loss to Oregon. The Bruins bounced back with wins over Stanford and Arizona State, then lost to Arizona.

On Saturday versus USC, UCLA scored double-digit points in three of four quarter during a high-flying loss 48-45. Bruins QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson managed 309 yards with four scores and three picks. Zach Charbonnet rushed 19 times for 95 yards.

Over on the California side, they hit a 3-1 run out of the gate with wins over UC Davis, UNLV and Arizona. The Bears would then hit a rough losing streak, falling to Washington State, Colorado, Washington, Oregon USC and Oregon State.

Matched up against Stanford, the Bears trailed 17-6 going into the final quarter. California scored 21 points from there in a 27-20 comeback win. QB Jack Plummer managed 280 yards, one score and two picks. Jaydn Ott rushed for 97 yards and a TD.

The Bruins are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games and 7-2 ATS in their last nine in November. UCLA is 4-9 ATS in their last 13 on turf.

Meanwhile, the Bears are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six Friday games and 7-2 ATS in their last nine at home. Cal is 1-6 ATS in the last seven after an ATS win.

PICK: I might take a stab on California here. The Bears posted a great comeback win over Stanford in their last outing, eventually totaling 383 total yards (113 rushing), 19 first downs and two picks. Cal was pretty spotty on third-down tries (4-of-14) and they did just enough to keep Stanford stifled late.

As for UCLA they gave up 649 yards of offense and had three turnovers in their wild loss to USC over the weekend. The Bruins posted some pretty good offensive numbers for the most part but fell just short. I don’t think they’ll have the gas for a cover in this one, though.
