The Tulane Green Wave and the Cincinnati Bearcats meet Friday in college football action from Nippert Stadium. Tulane is coming off a blowout win over SMU last Thursday. As for Cincinnati, they played Temple over the weekend. In that one the Bearcats managed a 20-point victory. Check back all season long for free college football picks at Sports Chat Place.

Tulane got off to a good start this year, winning their first three outings before a close loss to Southern Miss. The Wave recovered with wins over Houston, East Carolina, South Florida, Memphis and Tulsa before a loss to UCF.

In Thursday’s matchup versus SMU, the Wave went into the fourth quarter with a 49-14 lead. Tulane cruised from there for the 59-24 win. Tulane’s Michael Pratt put up 141 yards with three scores, and Tyjae Spears rushed 13 times for 121 yards and two touchdowns.

Over on the Cincinnati side, they lost to Arkansas in their opener but rebounded with wins over Kennesaw State, Miami-OH, Indiana, Tulsa, South Florida and SMU in their next six. The Bearcats would lost to UCF before taking out Navy and East Carolina.

In the Temple game last weekend, Cincinnati got off to a 17-3 lead by halftime. After a couple of field goals in the second, the Bearcats had a 23-3 win. QB Evan Prater put up 127 yards and Ryan Montgomery rushed 14 times for 58 yards and a scores.

The Wave are 6-0 ATS in their last six road games and 6-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record. Tulane is 13-3 ATS in their last 16 overall.

Meanwhile, the Bearcats are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Friday games and 7-3 ATS versus a team with a winning record. Cincinnati is 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven overall.

PICK: I’m going to try Tulane in this one. The Wave are doing quite well this year and they’re coming off a nice win over SMU. Tulane put up 451 yards (310 rushing) in that one with 8.1 yards per play. The passing game was uneventful however, and the Wave were an ice-cold 0-of-7 on third downs.

As for Cincinnati, they didn’t have any issues defensively with Temple in their last game. It was a pretty uneventful second half for the offense, though. Tulane is going to be a tougher challenge, and I don’t think the Bearcats will cover.
