The Florida State Seminoles and Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns meet Saturday in week 12 college football action from Doak Campbell Stadium. Louisiana is coming off a matchup versus Georgia Southern. In that one the Cajuns managed a 19-point victory. As for Florida State, they played Syracuse in their last game. The Seminoles won that game in a blowout. Louisiana went 2-3 over their first five games this year, taking losses to Rice, LA-Monrore and South Alabama in succession. After victories over Marshall and Arkansas State, the Cajuns lost their next pair to Southern Miss and Troy.

In the Georgia Southern game back on Thursday, Louisiana had a 27-7 lead by halftime. The Cajuns scored in every quarter along the way to a 36-17 win. QB Ben Wooldridge put up 193 yards with three scores, and Chris Smith put up 80 rush yards.

Over on the Florida State side, they beat Duquesne, LSU, Louisville and Boston College before losses to Wake Forest, NC State and Clemson. The Seminoles then won their next two games over Georgia Tech and Miami.

Matched up against Syracuse, Florida State didn’t have too much trouble. The Seminoles were up 24-3 by halftime and cruised to the 38-3 blowout win. Jordan Travis finished with 155 yards and three scores, while Trey Benson rushed for 163 yards on 18 carries.

The Cajuns are 5-1 ATS in the last six non-conference games and 9-2 ATS versus a team with a winning record. Louisiana is 15-7-1 ATS in their last 23 on grass.

Meanwhile, the Seminoles are 5-0 ATS in their last five in November and 7-1 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up win. Florida State is 6-2 ATS in their last eight after an ATS win.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Florida State. The Seminoles put up a nice effort in the win over Syracuse, holding the Orange to just 160 total yards, nine first downs and 1-of-11 on third-down tries. Florida State notched 420 total yards (230 rushing) themselves with 25 first downs.

As for Louisiana, they put up a decent effort themselves against Georgia State with 435 total yards (242 rushing). The Cajuns went just 3-of-14 on third-down tries however, and gave up 358 passing yards. Florida State should have the cover advantage on paper, anyway.
