Big 12: Kansas vs TCU 10/8/22 College Football Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Kansas Jayhawks and TCU Horned Frogs clash Saturday in a week 6 Big 12 college football game from KU Memorial Stadium. TCU is fresh off a game versus Oklahoma. The Frogs ended up with a blowout victory there. As for Kansas, they played Iowa State in their last outing. In that one the Jayhawks won by three points. TCU opened up their year with a convincing with over Colorado, taking it 38-13. Game two against Tarleton State was another blowout victory for the Horned Frogs, ending in a 59-17 result. TCU was able to keep it going in game three versus SMU with a 42-34 win. 

Matched up against Oklahoma, the Frogs poured in 27 first-quarter points and kept the pressure up during a 55-24 win. QB Max Duggan logged 302 yards with three scores, and Kendre Miller rushed 13 times for 136 yards and two touchdowns. 

Over on the Kansas side, they kicked off the 2022 season with a blowout win over Tennessee Tech 56-10 and a tense overtime victory over West Virginia 55-42. The Jayhawks won again 48-30 against Houston, then took a 35-27 win over Duke on September 24. 

In the Iowa State game, the Jayhawks didn’t score after halftime but were still able to hang on for the 14-11 victory. Jalon Daniels threw for 93 yards on 7-of-14 passing, and Devin Neal managed 12 carries for 75 yards to lead the rushers. 

PICK: I’m staying with TCU. The Frogs put on a clinic against Oklahoma, storming to 668 total yards, 8.9 yards per play, 29 first downs, zero turnovers and a 7-of-14 run on third-down tries. There’s really not much to complain about statistically, though pessimists will fear a big-win hangover this coming weekend. 

As for Kansas, they somehow pulled off a messy win against a pretty good Iowa State team last weekend. The Jayhawks managed just 213 total yards, 10 first downs and a 3-of-10 run on third-down tries. Even after a win, Kansas needs to regroup this week.
