The LSU Tigers and UAB Blazers meet Saturday in week 12 college football action from Tiger Stadium. UAB is coming off a matchup versus North Texas. In that game the Blazers took a 20-point victory. As for LSU, they played Arkansas in their last outing. The Tigers would go on to eke out a win by three points. Check back all season long for free college football picks at Sports Chat Place.

UAB went 2-2 over their first quartet this season with wins over Alabama A&M and Georgia Southern. After wins over Middle Tennessee and Charlotte, the Blazers lost to Western Kentucky, FAU and UTSA in succession.

In the North Texas game, the Blazers were down 21-17 going into the break. UAB turned it on with a 24-0 run from there in a 41-21 win. QB Dylan Hopkins finished with 234 yards and a score, but Jermaine Brown and DeWayne McBride did most of the work with a combined 270 rush yards and four scores.

Over on the LSU side, they lost to Florida State in their opener then beat Southern U, MS State, New Mexico and Auburn. After a loss to Tennessee the Tigers won versus Florida, Ole Miss and Alabama.

Back on Saturday versus Arkansas, the Tigers were up 13-3 going into the fourth quarter and had to hang on to pull off the 13-10 win. QB Jayden Daniels notched 86 yards and a pick, while Josh Williams rushed 19 times for 122 yards and a TD.

The Blazers are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven in November and 8-3 ATS versus a team with a winning record. UAB is 1-4 ATS in their last five overall.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are 5-1 ATS in their last six at home and 7-2 ATS in their last nine on grass. LSU is 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine in November.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on UAB. The Blazers did a good job against a solid North Texas team in their last outing, posting 505 total yards (271 rushing), 24 first downs and a nice 13-of-17 run on third-down tries. The Blazers have taken some tough losses over the last four games, but for the most part they’ve been highly competitive.

As for LSU, their win over Arkansas wasn’t the most inspiring thing in the world but it got the job done. The Tigers posted just 284 total yards and 15 first downs with two turnovers along the way in the close win. I like UAB to give the Tigers a strong effort in a cover.
