Indiana went 3-0 over their first three games, beating Illinois, Idaho and Western Kentucky. The Hoosiers hit a losing streak after that however, falling to Cincinnati, Nebraska, Michigan, Maryland, Rutgers and Penn State.

In the Ohio State game, the Hoosiers quickly fell behind and trailed 28-7 by halftime. Indiana gave up 28 more points from there in a 56-14 blowout loss. Dexter Williams threw for 107 yards and two scores, while also leading the rush on 16 carries for 46 yards.

Over on the Michigan State side, they beat Western Michigan and Akron before taking losses to Washington, Minnesota, Maryland and Ohio State. After a win over Wisconsin, the Spartans lost to Michigan and then beat Illinois.

Matched up against Rutgers, Michigan State took a 14-7 lead into the break. The Spartans ended up scoring in every quarter during a hard-fought 27-21 win. QB Payton Thorne finished with 256 yards and two scores.

The Hoosiers are 4-12 ATS in their last 16 conference games and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 after a straight-up loss. Indiana is 2-12 ATS in their last 14 after an ATS loss.

Meanwhile, the Spartans are 8-3-2 ATS in their last 13 at home and 10-4-2 ATS in the last 16 on grass. Michigan State is 5-11 ATS in their last 16 in November.

PICK: I’m probably sticking with Michigan State. The Spartans put up a pretty solid effort against Rutgers in their win over the weekend, notching 453 total yards (197 rushing) and 25 first downs. Michigan State was just 4-of-11 on third-down tries though, and benefitted from 14 Rutgers penalties.

As for Indiana, there was no realistic way they were going to hang around with Ohio State. The Hoosiers gave up 662 total lads and 27 first downs in the blowout loss, but this game should be easier to manage.
