Nebraska hit a 1-3 run over their first four games this year, beating North Dakota with losses to Northwestern, Georgia Southern and Oklahoma otherwise. After wins over Indiana and Rutgers, the Cornhuskers lost to Purdue and Illinois.

In the Minnesota game, the Cornhuskers had a 10-0 lead going into the break. Nebraska was outscored 20-3 from there in a 20-13 loss. QB Chubba Purdy had just 41 yards and an interception. Anthony Grant rushed 21 times for 115 yards.

Over on the Michigan side, they had a relatively close call or two among their first eight games, but the majority were big wins. The Wolverines beat Colorado State, Hawaii, UConn, Maryland, Iowa, Indiana, Penn State and Michigan State in their first eight outings.

In the Rutgers matchup, the Wolverines trailed 17-14 at halftime. Michigan went on a 38-0 tear from there in a 52-17 win. JJ McCarthy finished with 151 yards and two scores. Blake Corum added 20 carries for 109 yards and two touchdowns to lead the rush.

The Cornhuskers are 4-1 ATS in their last five in November and 2-6 ATS in their last eight on turf. Nebraska is 1-4-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS win.

Meanwhile, the Wolverines are 5-0 ATS in their last five in November and 9-2 ATS in the last 11 conference games. Michigan is 4-1 ATS in their last five overall.

PICK: I’m probably sticking with Michigan but staying away; it’s not worth messing with a line that thick. The Wolverines had a spotty first half versus Rutgers but finished strong, ultimately posting 433 total yards, 22 first downs, zero turnovers and just three penalties. Michigan held the Knights to just 180 yards and five first downs on the other side.

As for Nebraska, they’re coming off another tepid performance with just 267 total yards and 13 first downs in the loss to Minnesota. It’s a thick line here granted, but it’s going to be very difficult for the Cornhuskers to keep any kind of pace.
