The Oregon Ducks and UCLA Bruins meet Saturday in week 8 PAC-12 college football action from Autzen Stadium. Both teams are coming off open weeks. UCLA last played Utah in a 10-point win. As for the Ducks, their last action came in a blowout win over Arizona. Check back all season long for free college football picks at Sports Chat Place.

UCLA has had a close call or two along the way, but they’re playing well overall in 2022. The Bruins kicked things off with a win over Bowling Green 45-17, then beat Alabama State 45-7, South Alabama 32-31, Colorado 45-17 and Washington 40-32.

UCLA was able to keep their run going with a win over Utah in their last outing. The Bruins scored 28 points in the second half to cap a 42-32 victory. QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson finished with 299 yards and four touchdowns, while Zach Charbonnet rushed for 198 yards and a score.

Over on the Ducks’ side, they opened the year with an unenviable draw versus Georgia and fell in a 49-3 result. Oregon got it going from there however, taking out Eastern Washington 70-14, BYU 41-20, Washington State 44-41 and Stanford 45-27.

In their most recent action, the Ducks extended their win streak with a victory over Arizona. Oregon scored 21 points in both the second and third quarters during a 49-22 result. QB Bo Nix managed 265 pass yards and also rushed for 70 yards three touchdowns.

The Bruins are 6-0 ATS in their last six conference games and 7-2 ATS in the last nine overall. UCLA is 16-33 ATS in their last 49 in October.

Meanwhile, the Ducks are 5-0 ATS in their last five at home and 4-1 ATS in their last five on turf. Oregon is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 after an ATS win.

PICK: I’m leaning UCLA, but honestly I could go either way here. This should be one of the better matchups of the college football weekend. In any case, the Bruins put away a talented Utah team in their last outing, notching 502 yards along the way. UCLA certainly has some areas to improve however; the team committed 10 penalties and allowed 479 yards with 31 first downs. The Bruins have scored 32 points or more in each game so far this year, and 40 or more in five of six.

As for Oregon, they kept their run going well versus Arizona in their last outing. The Ducks managed 580 yards of offense and 29 first downs along the way. Oregon has hit 41 or more points in each of their last five games, so their offense should be ready to go here as well. I like this one to be a high-scoring shootout and a fun game to watch.
