The Penn State Nittany Lions and Maryland Terrapins clash Saturday in a week 11 Big Ten college football matchup from Beaver Stadium.

The Maryland Terrapins will look to rebound from a 23-10 loss to Wisconsin in their last game to fall to 6-3 on the year. Taulia Tagovailoa’s thrown for 2,078 yards, 14 touchdowns and 6 interceptions on 69.9% passing while Roman Hemby has 747 rushing yards and 7 TDs and Antwain Littleton II has 6 rushing scores this season. Rakim Jarrett and Corey Dyches each have a team-high 376 receiving yards with Jarrett logging a team-high 34 receptions. Jacob Copeland and Jeshaun Jones each have 300+ receiving yards while another pair of Terrapins have 200+ receiving yards this season. On defense, Beau Brade has a team-high 60 total tackles with 37 solo tackles and Greg China-Rose has a team-high 4 sacks as well this season.

The Penn State Nittany Lions will look to find some consistency, alternating wins and losses in each of their last five games after a 45-14 win over Indiana in their last game. Sean Clifford has thrown for 2,045 yards, 16 touchdowns and 7 interceptions on 63% passing while Nicholas Singleton has a team-high 679 rushing yards with 8 touchdowns and Kaytron Allen has 558 rushing yards and 8 scores as well this season. Parker Washington leads Penn State in receiving with 45 catches for 597 yards while Mitchell Tinsley has 38 catches for 427 yards and 4 TDs and Brenton Strange has 287 receiving yards and 4 scores as well. Four more Nittany Lions have 100+ receiving yards as well on the year. On defense, Ji’Ayir Brown has a team-high 52 total tackles while Johnny Dixon and Dani Dennis-Sutton each have 3 sacks. Brown also has a team-high 3 interceptions as well this season.

Maryland is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 7-16 ATS in their last 23 road games while the over is 6-1 in their last 7 games following an ATS loss. Penn State is 13-6 ATS in their last 19 conference games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall.

I get the case to be made either way in this game, but I’m leaning towards Penn State here. I’ve been highly critical of the Nittany Lions over the course of the season, but the reality is they’ve stepped it up over the course of the year and their only two blemishes this year have come against the two unbeaten teams in Michigan and Ohio State. Other than that, their last six wins have come by double-digits and I think it’s seven here. The Terps have found themselves in some close calls, but Penn State’s just on another level right now and a lot of Maryland’s best work has come at home.
