The San Jose State Spartans and Colorado State Rams clash Saturday in a week 10 MWC college football matchup from CEFCU Stadium.

The Colorado State Rams will look to find some consistency down the stretch, alternating wins and losses in each of their last five games, sitting at 2-6 on the year after a 49-10 loss to Boise State last time out. Clay Millen’s thrown for 1,005 yards, 6 touchdowns and 4 interceptions on 72.1% passing while Avery Morrow has rushed for a team-high 502 yards this season. Tory Horton leads Colorado State’s receiving group with 41 catches for 601 yards and 5 touchdowns this season. On defense, Jack Howell leads the Rams with 84 total tackles and 3 interceptions while Mohamed Kamara has 4.5 sacks and C.J. Onyechi also has 2.5 sacks this season.

The San Jose State Spartans will look to build on their 5-2 record to start the year after picking up a 35-28 win over Nevada in their last game. Chevan Cordeiro has thrown for 1,950 yards, 9 touchdowns and an interception on 59.8% passing along with 163 rushing yards with 7 touchdowns while Kairee Robinson has a team-high 383 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns. Elijah Cooks has a team-high 37 catches for 621 yards and 3 touchdowns while Justin Lockhart has 389 receiving yards and two more Spartans have 200+ receiving yards as well on the year. On defense, Kyle Harmon has a team-high 57 total tackles while Cade Hall has 6.5 sacks and Viliami Fehoko has 6 sacks as well this season. As a unit, San Jose State has 21 sacks and 8 interceptions this season.

Colorado State is 2-12 ATS in their last 14 games overall and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games following a loss. San Jose State is 24-11-2 ATS in their last 37 conference games and 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 home games.

I get the case to be made for an underdog in some spots, but this Colorado State team is awful, and I’m not sure how many points is too many. San Jose State had a close call against a subpar Nevada team last time out, but I kind of think those players heads were elsewhere after the loss of their teammate and now they can try to refocus with a game under their belts. This may be more of a fade of Colorado State than anything else, but I’ll lay the points with San Jose State here.
