The Florida Gators and LSU Tigers do battle Saturday in SEC week 7 college football action from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. LSU is fresh off a matchup versus Tennessee. In that one the Tigers fell in blowout fashion. As for Florida, they played Missouri over the weekend. The Gators ended up winning by a touchdown. LSU opened up the year with a rough 24-23 loss to Florida State, but then the team hit their stride. The Tigers would go on to take out Southern 65-17, Mississippi State 31-16, New Mexico 38-0 and Auburn 21-17 over the next four games.

On Saturday versus Tennessee, LSU was down 23-7 by halftime and it didn’t get any better in a 40-13 defeat. QB Jayden Daniels finished with 300 yards, one TD and one pick while also leading the rush on 38 yards from 16 carries.

Over on the Gators’ side, they beat Utah 29-26 in their opener, then fell 26-16 to Kentucky. The Gators would rebound with a 31-28 win over South Florida, then they fell 38-33 to Tennessee. Game five was another victory, this time 52-17 over Eastern Washington.

Matched up against Missouri on Saturday, Florida blew an early 10-0 lead but eventually pulled it together in the second half for a 24-17 win. QB Anthony Richardson put up 66 yards with one TD and one pick. Montrell Johnson added eight carries for 86 yards and a TD.

The Tigers are 14-5 ATS in their last 19 after an ATS loss and 1-4 ATS in their last five road games. LSU is 1-6 ATS in their last seven in October.
Meanwhile, the Gators are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 on grass and 3-10 ATS in their last 13 overall. Florida is 2-7 ATS in the last nine at home.

PICK: I’m probably taking LSU. This is an interesting matchup, though; neither team did all that well over the weekend. The Tigers gave up 502 total yards and 27 first downs to Tennessee in their loss. LSU posted 355 yards themselves with nine penalties and a couple of turnovers. It wasn’t exactly a prime performance, but Tennessee is a top-shelf national team.

As for Florida, they had just 66 passing yards, 13 first downs, two turnovers and a rough 3-of-11 rate on third downs against Missouri but still found a way to win. The Gators played much better in their game versus Tennessee as well (38-33 loss). I could probably go either way in this one, actually.
