The TCU Horned Frogs and Texas Tech Red Raiders do battle Saturday in week 10 Big 12 college football action from Amon G. Carter Stadium. Texas Tech is fresh off a matchup versus Baylor. The Red Raiders lost that game in a blowout. As for TCU, they played West Virginia in their last game. In that one the Frogs won by 10 points. Texas Tech won three of their first four games this year, taking out Murray State, Houston and Texas (and losing to NC State). After losses to Kansas State and Oklahoma State, the Red Raiders got back in the W column against West Virginia.

In the Baylor game, the Raiders were down 24-17 going into the final quarter. Texas Tech was outscored 21-0 from there in a 45-17 loss. QB Behren Morton posted 152 yards with one TD and three picks. Tahj Brooks led the rush with 16 carries for 96 yards.

Over on the TCU side, they opened up the season on a nice run. The Horned Frogs beat Colorado, Tarleton State, SMU, Oklahoma, Kansas, Oklahoma State and Kansas State over their first seven outings.

Matched up against West Virginia, the Frogs went into the fourth quarter with a 28-24 lead. TCU held on for the eventual 41-31 win. QB Max Duggan put up 341 yards with three scores and an interception. Kendre Miller added 120 rush yards and a score off 12 carries.

The Raiders are 8-1 ATS in their last nine after an ATS loss and 6-0 ATS in their last six after a straight-up loss. Texas Tech is 1-4 ATS in their last five on grass.

Meanwhile, the Frogs are 4-0-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS win and 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight overall. TCU is 3-1-1 ATS in their last five conference games.

PICK: I’m staying with TCU. The Frogs put together a pretty decent effort against West Virginia over the weekend, with 494 total yards, 9.0 yards per play and 17 first downs. TCU went just 5-of-12 on third-down tries and had two turnovers with just 23:44 in time of possession, though.

As for Texas Tech, they managed 308 yards and 23 first downs against a pretty good Baylor team over the weekend. The Raiders held the ball for just 19:43 and threw five interceptions in the blowout loss, though. Texas Tech should get closer here but I don’t think they’ll cover.
