Temple vs Cincinnati 11/19/22 College Football Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Temple Owls and Cincinnati Bearcats meet Saturday in week 12 AAC college football action from Lincoln Financial Field. Cincinnati is coming off a matchup versus East Carolina. In that one the Bearcats eked out a two-point victory. As for Temple, they played Houston in their last outing. The Owls lost that game by a touchdown. Cincinnati lost to Arkansas in their opener this year, then beat Kennesaw State, Miami-OH, Indiana, Tulsa, USF and SMU over the next six games. After a loss to UCF, the Bearcats managed a 10-point win over Navy. 

In their matchup versus East Carolina, the Bearcats were outscored 13-0 in the third quarter. Cincinnati managed a fourth-quarter field goal to turn it into a 27-25 win, though. Ben Bryant posted 244 yards with two scores and a pick. Charles McClelland rushed 10 times for 39 yards. 

Over on the Temple side, they were 2-2 over their first four games with wins over Lafayette and UMass. The Owls then hit a losing streak to Memphis, UCF, Tulsa and Navy before finally getting another win against South Florida. 

Matched up against Houston last weekend, the Owls were up 19-14 going into halftime. Temple saw their lead disappear however and lost 43-36. QB EJ Warner managed 486 yards with three scores, and Jose Barbon caught eight balls for 128 yards. 

The Bearcats are 2-5 ATS in their last seven in November and 2-7 ATS in their last nine on grass. Cincinnati is 0-5-1 ATS in their last six overall. 

Meanwhile, the Owls are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four conference games. Temple is 5-0 ATS in their last five at home. 

PICK: I’m going to stay with Temple. The Owls did a nice job on offense in their loss versus Houston over the weekend, posting 533 total yards (47 rushing), 33 first downs and 9-of-16 on third-down tries. Temple did cough up a lot of production on the other side however, including 485 total yards and 25 first downs. 

As for the Bearcats, they won their game back on Friday but it wasn’t pretty. Cincinnati put up just 310 total yards and 13 first downs but were pretty opportunistic on defense when it counted. I like Temple to power out a cover against them, though.
