The UCLA Bruins and Stanford Cardinal clash Saturday in a week 9 Pac-12 college football game from the Rose Bowl.

The Stanford Cardinal will look to build on back-to-back wins after climbing to 3-4 with a 15-14 win over Arizona State in their last game. Tanner McKee has thrown for 1.857 yards, 10 touchdowns and 6 interceptions on 63.1% passing while Casey Filkins has a team-high 478 rushing yards with 4 scores and E.J. Smith has 206 rushing yards with 3 TDs as well. Michael Wilson leads Stanford with 418 yards and 4 receiving touchdowns while Elijah Higgins has a team-high 30 catches for 369 yards as well this season. Brycen Tremaine, Benjamin Yurosek, John Humphreys and the aforementioned Filkins each have 200+ receiving yards as well on the year. On defense, Levani Damuni has a team-high 46 total tackles while Stephen Herron has a team-high 4.5 sacks as part of Stanford’s 17 sacks as a unit this season.

The UCLA Bruins will try to bounce back from their first loss of the year, falling to 6-1 on the year after a 45-30 loss to Oregon in their last game. Dorian Thompson-Robinson’s thrown for 1,772 yards, 17 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on 73.8% passing while also rushing for 269 yards and 4 scores. Zach Charbonnet has a team-high 766 rushing yards with 7 TDs while Jake Bobo has a team-high 486 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns while Kazmeir Allen has a team-high 36 grabs for 244 yards and seven other Bruins have at least 100 receiving yards this season. On defense, Mo Osling III has a team-high 50 total tackles while Laiatu Latu has a team-high 6.5 sacks and Grayson Murphy has 3 sacks as well. UCLA’s defense also has 7 interceptions as a group this season.

Stanford is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games and 8-20-1 ATS in their last 29 conference games while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record. UCLA is 9-0 ATS in their last 9 games against a team with a losing record and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 conference games.

I get the case to be made either way in this game, but I’m firmly on the Bruins here. I just don’t have any desire to back Stanford in this one despite back-to-back wins as the offense hasn’t been good, it’s more so the opposing offense failing to show up and really falling apart in those spots. That won’t be an issue for UCLA who has been one of the best offensive units in the Pac-12 to this point and I think Stanford’s in deep here. I look for UCLA to win this one by at least three scores, so I’ll lay it and play it with UCLA here.
