Vanderbilt vs Florida 11/19/22 College Football Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Vanderbilt Commodores and Florida Gators meet Saturday in week 12 SEC college football action from Vanderbilt Stadium. Florida played South Carolina last weekend. The Gators would go on to win by 32 points. As for Vanderbilt, they’re coming off a matchup versus Kentucky. In that one the Commodores bagged a close victory. Florida went 2-2 over the first four games this year, losing to Kentucky and Tennessee with wins over Utah and South Florida. Another 2-2 run with wins over Eastern Washington and Missouri came after that, then a win over Texas A&M in game nine. 

Matched up against South Carolina, the Gators didn’t have a ton of trouble. Florida notched 21 points in the first quarter alone, rolling to a 38-6 blowout win. Anthony Richardson threw for 112 yards and two scores, while Montrell Johnson led the rush on 161 yards and a TD. 

Over on the Vanderbilt side, they opened up on a 3-1 run this year with wins over Hawaii, Elon and Northern Illinois. The Commodores hit the skids after that, losing to Alabama, Ole Miss, Georgia, Missouri and South Carolina in succession. 

In the Kentucky game, Vanderbilt carried a slim 7-6 lead into halftime. The Commodores stayed pretty consistent in the second half and emerged with a 24-21 win. QB Mike Wright tossed 184 yards, one TD and one INT. Re’Mahn Davis rushed for 129 yards and a TD. 

The Gators are 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall and 2-5-1 ATS in the last eight in November. Florida is 3-8 ATS in the last 11 road games. 

Meanwhile, the Commodores are 9-2 ATS in the last 11 in November and 7-22 ATS in their last 29 at home. Vanderbilt is 1-5 ATS versus a team with a winning record. 

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Florida. The Gators are coming off an impressive win over a pretty decent South Carolina team, holding the Gamecocks to just 237 total yards, three turnovers,11 first downs and 3-of-11 on third-down tries. Florida carded a whopping 374 rush yards themselves along the way to 26 first downs. 

As for Vanderbilt, they’re coming off a pretty nice win over Kentucky. The Commodores posted 448 yards and 11-of-17 on third-down tries in a close outcome. This one’s going to be quite the challenge as well, and I think Florida ekes out the cover.
