The Nevada Wolf Pack and Incarnate Word Cardinals meet Saturday in a week 2 college football contest from Mackay Stadium.

The Incarnate Word Cardinals will be looking to build on their 64-29 rout over Southern Illinois last time out. Lindsey Scott Jr. threw for 391 yards and 6 touchdowns while also rushing for a score as well. Jarrell Wiley led the Cardinals with 35 rushing yards and Marcus Cooper added 32 rushing yards while Caleb Berry rushed for a score as well. Taylor Grimes led UIW in receiving with 126 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns while Darion Chafin had a team-high 4 grabs for 106 yards and a score. Ce’Cori Tolds had 60 receiving yards while Jaelin Campbell and Brandon Porter each had 50+ receiving yards with a score and Marquez Perez’s lone catch went for a TD as well. Tiji Paul also contributed a pick-six on the defensive end for UIW in the victory.

The Nevada Wolf Pack will come into this one at 2-0 after picking up a 38-14 win over Texas State last time out. Shane Illingworth has thrown for 152 yards on 72% passing while Nate Cox has thrown for 70 yards on 66.7% passing. Toa Taua leads Nevada in rushing with 146 rushing yards along with a pair of scores while Devonte Lee has 81 rushing yards and a team-high 3 touchdowns. Jamaal Bell leads Nevada’s receiving group with 9 receptions for 71 yards while Tyrese Mack’s added 54 receiving yards as well. On defense, Tyson Williams leads Nevada with 13 total tackles including a team-high 10 solo tackles while Dom Peterson has a team-high pair of sacks and Bentlee Sanders has a team-high 3 interceptions. Isaiah Essissima also has a pair of INTs for the Wolf Pack this season.

Incarnate Word is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games played on turf. Nevada is 10-4 ATS in their last 14 home games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 non-conference games.

I’ve gone back and forth on this game, but if forced to pick, I’d side with the over. The line feels very trappy, as they’re either begging you to take Nevada, or are trying to make you think something with UIW only getting a handful of points here. I’m looking at the over because we saw Incarnate Word’s ability to hang points on the other team while Nevada seems to work out their offensive issues against Texas State last week.
