The Purdue Boilermakers and Florida Atlantic Owls square off Saturday in week 4 college football action from Ross-Ade Stadium.

The FAU Owls will look to find some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their first four games of the year following a 40-14 loss to UCF last time out. N’Kosi Perry has thrown for 987 yards, 10 touchdowns and 2 interceptions on 57.7% passing while Larry McCammon and Zuberi Mobley have combined for 664 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns this season. LaJohntay Wester and Jahmal Edrine each have 200+ receiving yards while Je’Quan Burton and Tony Johnson each have 100+ receiving yards with Wester posting a team-high 4 touchdowns this season. On defense, Eddie Williams has a team-high 39 total tackles with a pair of sacks while Jayden Williams has 27 total tackles with a team-high 15 solo tackles and a pair of sacks as well. As a unit, FAU has 10 sacks and a pair of interceptions this season.

The Purdue Boilermakers will also be looking to turn things around after falling to 1-2 with a 32.29 loss to Syracuse last time out. Aidan O’Connell has thrown for 1,000 yards, 8 touchdowns and an interception on 64.7% passing while Devin Mockobee leads the ground attack for Purdue with 100 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns. Charlie Jones leads Purdue’s receivers with 32 grabs for 474 yards and 5 touchdowns and Payne Durham has 13 grabs for 133 yards and a pair of scores this season. On defense, Sanoussi Kane has a team-high 17 total tackles with 13 solo tackles while the Purdue defense as a whole has 6 sacks and 3 interceptions this season.

FAU is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games and 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 5-1-1 in their last 7 games against the Big Ten. Purdue is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against C-USA while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 games overall.

I get the case to be made for either side here, as this is a big number to give an FAU team that has capable athletes to make this thing uncomfortable for Purdue, while the Boilers are the better team and FAU’s struggled against teams with a pulse as of late. That being said, I like the over here. Purdue’s played in 3 straight overs to start the year and hasn’t been the sharpest defensively, allowing 33.5 points per game against Penn State and Syracuse, while FAU’s given up 41 to Ohio and 40 to UCF last week. I think this game’s going to be defense optional and I look for it to fly over the total.
