UCLA Bruins Vs. Nevada Wolf Pack Free Pick 8/31/13

The Nevada Wolf Pack tussle with the #21 UCLA Bruins at the Rose Bowl on Saturday. UCLA comes off a campaign in which they surprised the country by upsetting #18 Nebraska, routing Arizona and dominating #24 Southern California in Pasadena.
Just twice though were the Bruins able to win by more than 20 points at home. UCLA did however get four victories by at least 25 points including 45-24 during the opener at Rice. The Bruins would love to continue the explosiveness on both sides of the football. UCLA accumulated 36 or more points eight times. The defense yielded 14 or less points four times.
Nevada offensively was just as daunting, but defensively were unaccounted for giving up 32 or more points seven times. The Pack weren’t exactly defensive stoppers the other six times on the field allowing 21, 24 thrice, 27 and 28 points. Nevada upset California 31-24 in Week One, but went down 49-48 to the Pacific-12 Conference’s Wildcats at the New Mexico Bowl.
The Bruins return sophomore quarterback Brett Hundley who will have a chip on his shoulder wanting to prove UCLA’s great season in 2012 was no fluke. Without running back Johnathan Franklin the Wolf Pack would be wise to try making Hundley beat them throught the air.
The Golden Bears spiked the Bruins 43-17. UCLA was great at home other than against #4 Stanford losing 35-17. The Bruins obviously should win, but to handle Nevada with ease might be a reach.
The Pack were menaces on the ground last season. I’m hoping junior QB Cody Fajardo is able to orchestate some long drives to milk the clock because Nevada’s defense had more holes in it last year than an 18-hole round of golf.
