The Montreal Alouettes and Saskatchewan Roughriders meet Friday in CFL action at Mosaic Stadium.
The Montreal Alouettes are still looking for their first victory of the season since August 11. The Montreal Alouettes haven’t won a road game since November of 2016. Darian Durant is completing 66.8 percent of his passes for 3,107 yards, 15 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. Durant and Drew Willy have combined for 16 touchdown passes and 17 interceptions this season. B.J. Cunningham and Ernest Jackson have combined for 1,721 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns while Nik Lewis has 70 receptions. The Montreal Alouettes ground game is averaging 98.8 yards per contest, and Tyrell Sutton leads the way with 798 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, Montreal is allowing 31.9 points and 414.2 yards per game. Kyries Hebert leads the Montreal Alouettes with 103 tackles, John Bowman has seven sacks and Jonathon Mincy has two interceptions.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders look to keep the ball rolling after winning seven of their last 10 games. The Saskatchewan Roughriders have won four of their last six home games. Kevin Glenn is completing 68.9 percent of his passes for 3,871 yards, 23 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Glenn has zero touchdown passes in four of his last six games. Defensively, Saskatchewan is allowing 24.4 points and 375 yards per game. Henoc Muamba leads the Saskatchewan Roughriders with 73 tackles, Willie Jefferson has eight sacks and Ed Gainey has nine interceptions
The Alouettes are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games, 0-8 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS loss and 0-9 ATS in their last 9 games overall. The Roughriders are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Friday games, 21-43-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record and 8-23-1 ATS in their last 32 games in October. The Alouettes are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings in Saskatchewan, 8-3 ATS in their last 11 meetings and the over is 10-4 in the last 14 meetings in Saskatchewan.
Montreal is being outscored by 31 points in its last three games, has failed to cover a single game in its last nine and is just 3-13 ATS overall this season. There's just no reason to back the Alouettes given the way things have played out this season. However, the last two games between Montreal and Saskatchewan have been decided by a combined six points. Three of the Roughriders last four victories have been decided by single digits. I simply don't feel comfortable laying this much chalk. If forced to pick, I'd side with the points, but this is a game I'm probably staying off.
