The Toronto Argonauts and BC Lions meet Saturday in CFL action at BC Place.
The Toronto Argonauts look for a spark heading into the playoffs after splitting their last 10 games. The Toronto Argonauts have lost six of their last seven road games. Ricky Ray is completing 70.5 percent of his passes for 5,205 yards, 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Ray has one or less touchdown passes in five of his last eight games. S.J. Green and Armanti Edwards have combined for 2,290 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns while DeVier Posey has 50 receptions. The Toronto Argonauts ground game is averaging 86.4 yards per contest, and James Wilder leads the way with 736 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, Toronto is allowing 26.1 points and 359.2 yards per game. Bear Woods leads the Toronto Argonauts with 85 tackles, Victor Butler has eight sacks and Cassius Vaughn has three interceptions.
The BC Lions hope to end the season on a positive note after losing five of their last six games. The BC Lions have lost three straight home games. Jonathon Jennings is completing 66 percent of his passes for 3,494 yards, 16 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. Jennings and Travis Lulay have combined for 26 touchdowns and 23 interceptions this season. Bryan Burnham and Emmanuel Arceneaux have combined for 2,234 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns while Nick Moore has 37 receptions. The BC Lions ground game is averaging 95.8 yards per contest, and Jeremiah Johnson leads the way with 886 yards and eight touchdowns. Defensively, BC is allowing 27.1 points and 371.3 yards per game. Solomon Elimimian leads the BC Lions with 133 tackles, Craig Roh has eight sacks and Ronnie Yell has four interceptions.
The Argonauts are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 road games, 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games in November and 8-21 ATS in their last 29 games overall. The Lions are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 home games, 1-4 ATS vs. a team with a losing record and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Argonauts are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in BC and the under is 20-7 in the last 27 meetings.
The road team has won the last seven meetings between the Argonauts and Lions, but BC has been on the winning side in three of those four contests. BC hasn't done much winning as of late, but it keeps games close and would love nothing more than to end things on a positive note. The Toronto Argonauts are playing hot and cold football and have had little to no success on the road this season. So, in a pick em game, I'm going to side with the BC Lions at home.
