The Calgary Stampeders and Toronto Argonauts meet Sunday in the CFL 105th Grey Cup at TD Place Stadium.
The Calgary Stampeders hope to win their eighth Grey Cup in franchise history and fourth since the 2001 season. The Calgary Stampeders have won 12 of their last 15 games overall. Bo Levi Mitchell is completing 63.9 percent of his passes for 4,700 yards, 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Levi Mitchell has two or less touchdown passes in 10 straight games. Marquay McDaniel and Marken Michel have combined for 1,640 receiving yards and seven touchdowns while DaVaris Daniels has 47 receptions. The Calgary Stampeders ground game is averaging 97.1 yards per contest, and Jerome Messam leads the way with 1,016 yards and nine touchdowns. Defensively, Calgary is allowing 19.8 points and 343.8 yards per game. Alex Singleton leads the Calgary Stampeders with 123 tackles, Charleston Hughes has 11 sacks and Ciante Evans has five interceptions.
The Toronto Argonauts hope to win their 17th Grey Cup in franchise history and third since the 2004 season. The Toronto Argonauts have won six of their last eight games overall. Ricky Ray is completing 71 percent of his passes for 5,546 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Ray has two or more touchdown passes in five of his last 10 games. S.J. Green and Armanti Edwards have combined for 2,424 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns while DeVier Posey has 52 receptions. The Toronto Argonauts ground game is averaging 88.4 yards per contest, and James Wilder leads the way with 872 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, Toronto is allowing 25.1 points and 349.6 yards per game. Bear Woods leads the Toronto Argonauts with 89 tackles, Victor Butler has 10 sacks and Cassius Vaughn has five interceptions.
The Stampeders are 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 playoff games, 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Argonauts are 3-9 ATS vs. a team with a winning record, 14-30 ATS in their last 44 home games and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The over is 6-2 in Argonauts last 8 games overall and the over is 4-0 in Stampeders last 4 playoff games.
Calgary has won the last eight meetings against Toronto with its last loss coming in September of 2013. In the two meetings this season, the Stampeders outscored the Argonauts 64-31. However, the Calgary Stampeders aren't the same team they've been all season, as they took almost the final month of the regular season off, allowed Edmonton to hang around last week and have failed to cover each of their last five games. The Toronto Argonauts have covered six of their last eight games and are outscoring teams by 11 points in their last three games overall. Toronto has also played in a ton of close games this season. I'll take my free touchdown in the Grey Cup.
See you guys next season!
