The Ole Miss Rebels host the Troy Trojand of the Sun Belt to kick off the 2013-14 campaign.
The Trojans have not been enjoying a great deal of success under Don Maestri and the school opted to part ways and bring on Phil Cunningham. A change of coaches might have been in order for a team that went 12-21 a year ago but this season and the next few will require patience with the team losing most of their starters and almost beginning anew. The Trojans struggled to put the clamps on opposing attacks and struggled to hit shots themselves and that makes 2013-14 an unknown. The question that needs to be answered is where will the offense come from and the most likely source is guard Hunter Williams who averaged ten points with backcourt mate Antoine Myerschecking in with eight.

Mississippi was an outstanding 27-9 a year ago and 12-6 in the SEC which are numbers that are simply difficult to duplicate. Most of the team's success revolved around guard Marshall Henderson and his 138 makes from beyond the arc on an NCAA high 394 attempts. Henderson averaged 20 points on 38% shooting which was low but acceptable marksmanship given his propencity for launching long balls. The problem for the Rebels is Henderon is suspended to start the season for marijuana possession and the loss Murphy Holloway (56% shooter) begs to question where the points will come from. Guard Jarvis Summers averaged nine points and will need to push his scoring out put to double figures while forward Sebastian Saiz play well for Spain in the summer avering close to a double, double in scoring and rebounding.
I think Mississippi might come out of the gates slow without Henderson which makes me a bit leary here but I am going strictly on potential...
