The Colorado State Rams and Gonzaga Bulldogs shoot for their second wins of the early going.
I don't know where Colorado State fits in the Mountain West, but they were obviously heads and tails better than Colorado-Colorado Springs in an easy 99-70 rout in what amounted to an exhibition. The game was surprisingly close at the break with only seven points separating the two before the Rams got serious over the final 20 minutes. CSU was simply bigger and faster as they held the Mountain Lions to just 38.5% shooting, while connecting at a 60% pace themselves. A 28-14 edge at the charity stripe and a 41-25 advantage on the glass meant the Rams were never in danger. Six players reached DD in scoring with Daniel Bejarano tossing in 17 points, followed by JJ Avilia and David Cohn with 15 points each. Marcus Holt added 14, while Jon Octeus and Gerson Santo combined for 22 points.

The #14 Bulldogs didn't hurt their ranking and probably didn't help it either in a 100-76 rout of Bryant simply because they were expected to win big and did just that. The Zags locked this one up by the half with a 49-28 lead that was a bit wild in the second half with both teams running the floor and putting the ball in the basket. Bryant connected at a not too shabby 45% but that wasn't a match for the Bulldogs nearly 54% accuracy that included 7-19 from distance. A balanced attack won out in the end with five players cracking the ten point barrier with Sam Dower scoring 21 points and hauling down 17 rebounds. Gerard Coleman checked in with 15 followed by Kevin Pangos and Gary Bell Jr with 14 points each while Przemek Karnowski chipped in with ten.
I really need to see more from both teams to make a half way educated decision so I'm simply siding with the points, although Gonzaga probably has blow out potential...
