The Yale Bulldogs shoot for the road upset of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in Thursday action.
Yale is viewed as a threat in the Ivy League which is a bold prediction fo a conference that is completely unpredictable at times and usually has Princeton and Harvard duking it out. The Bulldogs might be a threat in the league but they were meek and mild in an 80-62 loss to Connecticut. The Huskies led 39-25 after 20 minutes and were never a factor with neither the offense or defense playing well. UConn didn't miss often with over 56% shooting and Yale's 31.7% from the floor was the deciding factor. Justin Sears led the offense witth 17 points and ten rebounds followed by Javier Duren adding 15 points with Brandon Sherrod tossing in nine.

It's tough to figure out Rutgers after only two games as the defeated Florida A&M by eight to open the year before dropping a 79-76 decision at Alabama Birmingham. The Scarlet Knights were ahead by seven going in to the locker room but the defense couldn't get stops in the second half with the Blazers racking up 48 points. Both teams shot in th 42-43% range with UAB amassing a 52-24 edge on the backboards including 21 offensive rebounds. Myles Mack and JJ Moore led a balanced Rutgers attack with 12 points each with Mack handing out nine helpers while Kadeem Jack and Wally Judge tossed in eleven points apiece. Nine saw playing time and everybody scored and saw at least ten minutes of floor time.
I think Yale might have taken a step forward to at least compete with some of the bigger names although I'm not sure Rutgers fits that description. If I'm right about the Bulldogs I'll take the points...
