The Arkansas Razorbacks and the Louisiana Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns Face off on Friday Night in college basketball action.
The Arkansas Razorbacks got this season off to a winning start as they throttled SIU-Edwardsville in their opening game. Arkansas led by 29 points at halftime in game one and then they won by 34 points in the end even though they emptied the bench. Anthalon Bell led the Razorbacks scoring 18 points in 22 minutes. Michael Qualls had 16 points and five rebounds, Alandise Harris had 15 points and four rebounds, Mardracus Wade had 11 points in 15 minutes, and Coty Clarke had 10 points and 8 rebounds. Arkansas shot 51.6 percent from the floor, 50 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and they have made 71.4 percent of their free throws.

The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns are off to a 2-0 start to the season but it has been against soft competition. ULL opened with a 34 point win over Louisiana College and followed it up with a 26 point win over McNeese State. Shawn Long is averaging 26 points and 4.5 rebounds to the Ragin’ Cajuns. Elfried Payton averages 25 points four rebounds, and six assists, Elridge Moore averages 13.5 points and 4.5 rebounds, and Kevin Brown averages 6.5 points. ULL is averaging 92 points and they are shooting 51.5 percent from the floor, 35.3 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and 61.5 percent from the free throw line.
Arkansas is 7-2 against the spread in their last nine home games, 7-2 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 5-21 against the spread following a game which they covered the point spread. Louisiana-Lafayette is 2-11-1 against the spread following a win, 0-5-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 non-conference games.
Arkansas is the better team here but I don’t see ULL as being a pushover and getting the double digit point I am on ULL here.
