The Elon Phoenix look to stay perfect when they do battle with the Charlotte 49ers.
Elon has been very strong at both ends of the floor while enjoying a 2-0 start to the 2013-14 campaign. The flip side is the competition hasn't been the greatest and the Phoenix haven't been tested. Marist did not put up much of a fight in a 75-48 defeat in which Elon jumped to a 47-16 lead going in to the locker room to effectively put this one in to the win column. The Red Foxes never found the shooters touch on 31% from the field including 0-14 from behind the line while the Phoenix sank half of their attempts with a 10-27 effort from distance. Tanner Samson led the offense with 17 points and five pulls followed by Lucas Troutman with 16 while Austin Hamilton and Ryley Beaumont tossed in 13 and eleven points.

Charlotte has had their offense in high gear through two games with an 81 point average but are just 1-1 as the defensive end of the floor has not found the groove. The 49ers fell to Charleston 83-82 with the Cougars sinking nearly half their looks including a 12-28 mark from beyond the arc. Charlotte connected at almost 48% but were 3-9 from long range and failed to capitalize at the charity stripe by hitting 23-37 in a one point game. Depth has been a question heading in to the year but we can't argue with an offense that placed five players in double figures. Pierria Henry poured in 21 points to go along with five pulls and six helpers with Willie Clayton adding 19 points and 13 rebounds. Terrance Williams was next in line with a 16 point effort while Mike Thorne Jr and Shawn Lester combined for 24 points.
This should be exciting for the fans and I believe Elon will be exciting all year. The Phoenix aren't bad or so I think which has me looking at the points especially if Isenbarger plays...
