The Cornell Big Red look to get their first win against the #3 Louisville Cardinals Friday.
Cornell hasn't kicked off 2013-14 in the best way with three defeats to open the season. However, an 89-79 loss to Binghamton is just the kind of game that will stick with a team for a long time. The Big Red owned a 13 point lead at the half which grew to 19 before the Bearcats exploded for 59 second half points to pull out what appeared a certain defeat. Cornell shot the ball better at 47.6%-44.4% but Binghamton sank 14 long balls and won the battle at the foul line 27-9. Nolan Cressler led the Cornell attack with 19 points with 17 points coming from Devin Cherry while Dominic Scelfo and David Onuorah combining for 19 with the latter grabbing eleven rebounds.

Louisville enters the season ranked number three and through two games have lived up to the billing thus far with a pair of 20+ point routs. The Cardinals had zero problem disposing of Hofstra with a 97-69 victory behind 51.5% marksmanship with 13 more looks at the basketball. The Pride shot the ball surprisingly well at 45.5% but thhe UL defense did show some bite with 21 forced turnovers. The Cardinals offensive exploosion received a game high 30 and five helpers from Russ Smith with Chris Jones tossing in another 20 points with seven assists while Montrezl Harrell contributed 19 points and five rebounds. Wayne Blackshear Luke Hancock rounded out the top scorers with 17 points as the Cardinals stuck to a nine man rotation.
A huge spread...surprise, surprise. Cornell is way over their heads here with Louisville capable of breaking the century mark. Not for me however...
