The North Carolina Tar Heels and the Holy Cross Crusaders face off on Friday Night in Chapel Hill for an early season college basketball matchup.
The North Carolina Tar Heels opened their season with a blowout win over Oakland and although they called the dogs off in the second half it was clear they could have named their number. UNC led Oakland by 37 at halftime and in the end they won by 23 as the Heels cleared the bench. James Michael McAdoo had 21 points and nine rebounds to lead North Carolina. Marcus Paige had 14 points and five assists, J.P. Tokoto had 13 points and five assists, and Brice Johnson and Kenny Meeks had 10 points each. North Carolina shot 60 percent from the floor, 38.5 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and 65 percent from the free throw line. UNC is currently ranked 11th in the nation.

The Holy Cross Crusaders are 1-1 after their first two games but they appear to be up against it in this spot. Holy Cross started the season losing by 10 points and then battled to beat Sacred Heat in overtime. Dave Dudzinski is averaging 25.5 points and 10.5 rebounds to lead Holy Cross. Cullen Hamilton is averaging 22 points, Malachi Alexander is averaging 15 points and 7.5 rebounds, and Anthony Thompson and Justin Burrell each are averaging 8.5 points each. Holy Cross is averaging 97 points per game and they are shooting 44.6 percent from the floor, 43.2 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and they are shooting 80.5 percent from the free throw line.
North Carolina is 4-1 against the spread in their last five non-ACC games, 7-2 against the spread in their last nine home games, and 0-4 against the spread following a win. Holy Cross is 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games, 1-4 against the spread in their last five Friday games, and 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games against a team with a winning home record.
North Carolina is a big favorite here and while the line has been dropping, it just makes it a better opportunity because this one shapes up to be a blowout as the Heels are just the much more talented and deeper team.
