The Texas A&M Aggies and the Rice Owls face off on Friday Night on the hardwood in a college basketball matchup.
The Texas A&M Aggies started the season strong the past several years only to fade and this season they have started strong once again. Texas A&M blew out Buffalo in their season opener and then crushed Mississippi Valley State to back it up. Kourtney Roberson averages 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds to lead the Aggies. Alex Caruso averages 12.5 points, 6.5 assists, and 5.5 rebounds, Jordan Green averages 12 points, and Jamal Jones averages 11.5 points and 4.5 rebounds. Texas A&M is averaging 86.5 points and they are shooting 53.6 percent from the floor, 35.1 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and 60.5 percent from the free throw line.

The Rice Owls are off to a 1-1 start as they won their season opener and then lost a nail biter in their last game. Rice opened the season with a nine-point win against St. Thomas and then fell by one point to Southeastern Louisiana. Max Guercy leads the way for Rice averaging 13 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. Marcus Jackson is averaging 12 points per game, Austin Ramijak is averaging 10.5 points, and Sean Obi is averaging 9.5 points and 7.0 rebounds. Rice is averaging 62 points and they are shooting 42.9 percent form the floor, 22.2 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and 69.6 percent from the free throw line.
Texas A&M is 502 against the spread in their last seven home games, 0-5 against the spread following a win, and 0-4-1 against the spread following a win by 20 or more points. Rice is 6-2 against the spread in their last eight road games, 2-5 against the spread following a loss, and 1-4 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
The line here is gigantic but so is the disparity among these two teams so I look for Texas A&M to just be too much in this spot though it is a lean at best given the number.
