The Marquette Golden Eagles and the Ohio State Buckeyes face off on Saturday in a college basketball matchup of ranked teams in Milwaukee.
The Marquette Golden Eagles are of to a 2-0 start but they take a big step up in competition in this one. Marquette opened the season wit a seven point win over Southern and then they opened it up with a 43 point win over Grambling State. Davante Gardener is the leader of the Golden Eagles and he is averaging 17.5 points and 4.5 rebounds. Todd Mayo is eligible and playing and he is averaging 14 points and 4.0 rebounds and Jamil Wilson is averaging 10.5 points and five rebounds. Derrick Wilson has scored just one point this season but he has 13 assists and nine rebounds. Marquette is averaging 88.5 points and they are shooting 49.2 percent from the floor, 29 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and they are shooting 61.9 percent from the free throw line.

The Ohio State Buckeyes have been a force in recent years and this year appears to be no different. OSU opened with a 39-point win over Morgan State and they followed it up with a 10 point win over Ohio. Lenzelle Smith Jr. is averaging 13.5 points and 5.0 rebounds to lead the Buckeyes. Sam Thompson is averaging 13 points, Shannon Scott is averaging 12 points and 5 assists, and LaQuinton Ross is averaging 12 points and 7.0 rebounds. Aaron Craft provides the spark and he is averaging 11.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists and is one of the top defensive players in the nation. Ohio State averages 84 points while shooting 45 percent from the floor, 37.2 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and 74 percent from the free throw line.
Marquette is 1-3-1 against the spread in their last five non-conference games, 0-3-1 against the spread in their last four home games, and 1-5-1 against the spread in their last seven games. Ohio State is 6-2 against the spread against the Big East, 0-4 against the spread following a win, and 0-4 against the spread in their last four games.
