The Bradley Braves are off to a 4-0 start to the season but they haven’t faced much in the way of competition. Bradley opened with a win over Chicago State and then followed it up with wins over Central Michigan, Alabama State, and Jacksonville State. Walt Lemon Jr. leads Bradley averaging 16 points, 4.3 rebounds, and just under 5 assists per game. Omari Grier is averaging 15.5 points, Auston Barnes is averaging 12.8 points and 8.3 rebounds, and Tyshon Pickett is averaging 12.5 points and 9.3 rebounds. Bradley is averaging 78.5 points per game while shooting 50.9 percent from the floor, 37.3 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and 74.4 percent from the free throw line.
Illinois is 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five home games, 3-1-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 3-0-1 against the spread in their last four games. Bradley is 2-5-1 against the spread in their last eight games, 2-6-2 against the spread following a win, and 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 road games.
A dozen points is a lot to lay against an unbeaten team especially when we aren’t sure exactly what Illinois is this season so I am taking the points.
