The Colorado Buffaloes and the Arkansas State Red Wolves face off on Monday in college basketball action.
The Colorado Buffaloes started their season on the wrong foot losing to Baylor but since then they have reeled off three consecutive wins. With the Pac-12 looking to be tough this season Colorado is going to need every win they can get to build their resume for the NCAA Tournament. Josh Scott leads Colorado averaging 13.2 pints per game with 8.8 rebounds. Spencer Dinwiddie averages 12.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game, Asia Booker averages 11.2 points, and Xavier Johnson is averaging 11 points and 4.0 rebounds. Colorado is averaging 77 points per game while shooting 47.3 percent from the floor, 30.6 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and 71.4 percent from the free throw line while their opponents average 66.2 points per game and shoot 40.1 percent from the floor.

The Arkansas State Red Wolves opened their season with two wins but then lost last time out in a one sided game to Wyoming. A-State’s schedule is fairly weak this season and this looks to be one of the tougher games they play outside of the Sun Belt. Melvin Johnson III leads Arkansas State averaging 16.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Kirk Van Slyke is averaging 14.3 points and 4.3 rebounds, Cameron Golden is averaging 12 points, and Brandon Reed averages 6.3 points with 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Arkansas State is averaging 67 points per game while shooting just 39.4 percent from the floor, 36.5 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and 67.8 percent from the free throw line while their opponents average 69.3 points and shoot 43.3 percent.
Colorado is 1-4 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 1-5-1 against the spread in their last seven games, and 0-4 against the spread following a win. Arkansas State is 2-6 against the spread in their last eight road games, 0-7 against the spread in their last seven games, and 2-8-1 against the spread in their last 11 non-conference games.
This is a big number for a team like CU to be laying but Arkansas State isn’t a good shooting team and playing in altitude isn’t going to help them out and I Iook for Colorado to win convincingly and cover.
