The fourth-ranked Duke Blue Devils look for back to back victories when they host the UNC-Asheville Bulldogs in early season non-conference action.
Duke bounced back from a tough loss to Kansas earlier in the week to crush Florida Atlantic 97-64 Friday. Soph. F Rodney Hood led all scorers with 28 points and added 3 rebounds and two assists, while F Jabari Parker became the first ever freshman in coach Mike Krzyzewski’s 34-year tenure to score at least 20 points in three straight games. Parker had 21 points, a season-high 10 rebounds and 2 assists. Senior G Andre Dawkins added 17 points, hitting 5-8 from beyond the arc. The Blue Devils dominated from the field, shooting 54% to Florida Atlantic’s 37% and made 12-of-23 three-pointers to shoot 52 percent from distance.

UNC-Asheville is coming off its first win of the season 67-58 over the College of Charleston in overtime after dropping its first two. Freshman G Andrew Rowsey had 23 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists on 8-of-11 from the field and hit 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. Senior G Jaron Lane added 13 points and 6 rebounds on 4-13 shooting and went 4-for-4 from the free throw line. As a team, the Bulldogs shot 46% from the field, 38% from three and made 14-of-15 free throw attempts.
The line in this game has Duke a 28-point favorite and considering the Bulldogs were blown out by Kentucky, lost handily to Western Carolina, needed OT to sneak out a win against the College of Charleston and the game is at Cameron Indoor, another rout sounds about right.
