The Jacksonville State Gamecocks look for their first win versus the Auburn Tigers.
Jacksonville State has begun the year on the wrong foot at 0-4 and I can say it will be a long season if the Gamecocks don't figure it out defensively or average 75 points. No opponent has been held to less then 72 points with Alabama State the latest to crack the defense in an 84-73 decision. The Hornets sank half their attempts while JSU connected at 42% which wasn't quite enough to win but when combined with a +8 at the line it was enough. Darion Rackley poured in a game high with five pulls and six turnovers with Nick Cook and Brian Williams adding 16 points apiece.

Auburn isn't given much of a thought in the SEC so I'm sure the players have read about how they have no chance in the conference. I'm also positive the Tigers are out to prove the experts wrong although a 111-92 defeat at the hands of Northwestern State didn't help their confidence. The Demons are predicted as a contender in the Southland and showed why with their 50% marksmanship better then Auburn's 46% which wasn't enough to win but a +15 at the line and 14 long balls was. Chris Denson led the offense was the offensive star with 29 points, nine yanks and five assists with KT Harrell tossing in 21 followed by Chris Griffin and Allen Payne with 13 and ten points with the latter snaring eight boards.
I don't have the greatest feel for this one so generally I side with the points in such a case. Having said that I don't know if we have enough points...
