The Big East and Patriot League match up when the Bucknell Bison and St John's Red Storm square off.
Despite massive losses from last season Bucknell hasn't looked bad in the early going but it's much to soon to say that will continue. The Bison were plenty good enough in 72-50 rout of St Francis (PA) that was decided by the half with 16 point lead that was never challenged. Both ends of the floor were at their best with Bucknell firing away at over 55% and the Red Flash checking in at less then 33%. The Bison also dominated the backboards 36-24 but ironically did not shoot a free throw. Cameron Ayers paced the attack with 16 points followed by Dom Hoffman with 14 while Chris Hass chipped in with ten points.

St John's is picked for some where in the middle of the pack in the Big East but with some teams gone the conference is smaller and anything can happen. After a 1-1 start all we know is the Red Storm struggled in an eleven point loss to Wisconsin and were head and tail better then Wagner in a 73-57 victory. SJU didn't light it up with 40% shooting including an 0-10 mark from distance but neither did the Seahawks who connected at 35.5%. This game was decided at the charity stripe where the Red Storm held a sizeable 29-6 advantage. An edge on the glass and 15 turnovers assured that Wagner wasn't going to make a come back. D'Angelo Harrison poured in 25 points and grabbed five boards with a 13 point, seven rebound effort from Jakar Sampson while Sir'Dominic Pointer added ten points.
St John's does have trouble putting the ball basket at time while Bucknell lost a ton of quality production. We don't know a whole lot about either but I'm inclined to take the points...
