The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets do battle with the Dayton Flyers in Wednesday night action.
Dayton is off to a perfect 3-0 start to 2013-14 but I still don't know where this team stands with a weak schedule thus far. All I know is the Flyers are better then St Francis (NY) after a 78-58 rout. A seven point lead at the half turned in to an easy victory behind all around steller shooting with UD hitting at 51% from the field and 24-30 from the stripe. The defense held the Terriers to 42% accuracy and forced 20 giveaways. Vee Stanford paced a balanced attack with 14 points with Khari Price and Jordan Sibert tossing in 13 points each while Matt Kavanaugh and Devin Oliver combined for 19.

Georgia Tech hasn't played a real tough schedule although it has probably been a bit more of a challenge with instate rival Georgia last time out. It was probably tougher for the Bulldogs who fell to the Yellow Jackets by an 80-71 count. Both teams at around 39% marksmanship but GT sank a few more shots and led at the charity stripe 24-19 and all this added up to a nice margin of victory. Trae Golden led four double digit scorers with 18 points followed by a 14 point, 13 rebound performance from Daniel Miller with Marcus Georges-Hunt and Kammeon Holsey combining for 21 points with the latter hauling down another 12 rebounds, Overall nine of the ten players that saw minutes managed to score.
Not much to say about either team until we see them play more but if the Flyers can make some shots and don't fall behind early I think they can be competitive...
