The Northeastern Huskies look for the huge upset of the Georgetown Hoyas Thursday.
Northeastern lost their fair share of talent from last season's CAA cahampionship and where they fit in the conference is one of those things where we will have to wait and see. The desperate Huskies kicked off the year 0-3 before breaking in to the win column with an 83-69 victory over Central Connecticut State. NE shot a red hot 51% from the floor and held the Blue Devils to 43% which wasn't enough to win but considering ten of the makes were from long range and the Huskies held a 17-7 edge at the line it was more then enough. CCSU had no answer for Demetrius Pollard who poured in a game high 27 points followed by Zach Stahl with 15 and David Walker with 14 points.

I know Georgetown isn't picked to win the Big East but I know from experience that this team can never be counted out. The Hoyas dropped their opener to Oregon but rebounded to dominate a decent Wright State by an 88-70 count. Many predicted the Raiders would be a tough match up but after 20 minutes the Hoyas were up 19 and in coast mode. GT sank half their attempts including ten bombs while WSU was held to 38.6% from the floor. The better shooting team made six more shots which was decisive with most other areas close. The Hoyas were led by the high scoring duo of D'Vauntes Smith Rivera with 25 points with Markel Starks right on his heels with his 23 points while Reggie Cameron chipped in with nine.
The big spread makes this dicey but based on what I have seen, Georgetown is capable of covering if they so desire. I'm just not a fan of big numbers unless I like the dog so no play for me...
