The Nebraska Cornhuskers and Massachusetts Minutmen take the floor in a Thursday tilt.
Nebraska is picked to finish near the bottom of the Big Ten so their 3-0 start has to be a confidence boost. The naysayers will be first to claim the schedule wasn't strong but a win is important to a team not expected to win much. Both ends of the floor came together well in an 83-57 rout of South Carolina State with the Huskers firing away at over 46% while the Bulldogs hit a 32% which was enough to win but Nebraska also sank more threes and free throws. Ray Gallegos led the offense with a game best 18 points followed by a 17 point effort from Deverell Biggs while Tai Webster and Leslee Smith added 13 and 12 points respectively with Shavon Shields chipping in with ten.

Massachusetts has the reputation of putting the ball in the basket for the past several years and have done nothing to change that belief with a 3-0 start behind an offense that is averaging over 87 points. The Minutemen and their high powered offense made short work of Youngstown State in an 85-69 rout. The Penguins hung around early but were out of it a few minutes in to the second half. UMass scorched the nets at 55% from the floor and proved to be able to play defense by limiting YSU to 36.8% accuracy. UMass owned a +15 on the boards and sank nine more free throws to survive the Penguins 18 extra looks. Chaz Williams and Sampson Carter led the scoring spree with 19 points each with Williams handing out eleven assists Raphiael Putney contributed 17 points and Cady Lalanne 13 more with 15 pulls.
I think Massachsetts is the better team and could win in a blow out but Nebraska is hard to nail down based on their schedule. Gun to my head and I lean to the points because I believe the Cornhuskers will be able to score...
