The Arizona State Sun Devils and the Bradley Braves face off on Friday in college basketball action.
The Arizona State Sun Devils are off to a 4-0 start and are coming off of a six-point win at UNLV. ASU has played the 217th ranked schedule thus far but it will get tougher in a hurry as they face Marquette on Monday. Jahil Carson leads the Sun Devils averaging 24 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game. Jermaine Marshall is averaging 18.5 points, Jordan Bachynski is averaging 13.8 points and 12.5 rebounds, and Egor Koulechov averages 6.0 points and 4.8 rebounds. Arizona State is averaging 90 points and they are shooting 48.8 percent from the floor, 40.8 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and 66 percent from the free throw line and defensively their opponents score 63.8 points and their opponents shoot 37.2 percent from the floor.
The Bradley braves started the season with four wins but they are coming off of their first loss of the season as they fell at Illinois. Bradley should be decent this year but I don’t see them competing with the big guns in Missouri Valley Conference. Walt Lemon Jr. is averaging 15.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists to lead the Braves. Tyshon Pickett is averaging 14.2 points and 8.6 rebounds, Omari Grier is averaging 12.8 points, and Auston Barnes is averaging 11.4 points and 8.0 rebounds. Bradley is averaging 73.8 points shooting 47.7 percent from the floor, 33.3 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and 75.8 percent from the free throw line while defensively they allow 67.8 points and their opponents shoot 40.7 percent.
Arizona State is 4-0 against the spread in their last four home games, 5-0 against the spread in their last five games, and 7-0 against the spread in their last seven Pac-12 games. Bradley is 1-5 against the spread in their last six road games, 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 road games against a team with a winning home record, and 0-3-1 against the spread in their last four games.
This one looks to be a blowout and despite the big number I am going to lay the points and take Arizona State.
