The Line: Washington Huskies +1 -- Over/Under: TBA See the Latest Odds
The Washington Huskies and the Boston College Eagles face off on Friday in Madison Square Garden in a college basketball matchup.
The Washington Huskies were outmanned on Thursday as they fell to the Indiana Hoosiers. Washington trailed by 13 points at the half and were never able to narrow the gap in what was a one sided game. C.J. Wilcox had 24 points as UW’s leading scorer but he contributed little else. Perris Blackwell had 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks, Andrew Andrews had 14 points and 4 assists, Nigel Williams-Goss had 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, and Mike Anderson had 11 points and four rebounds before fouling out. Shawn Kemp Jr. fouled out without scoring and he played just nine minutes. Washington shot 42.9 percent from the floor but they simply had no answers on the boards as they were outrebounded 50-29. The Huskies hope to put Thursday behind them.

Boston College had a chance to win their game on Thursday against UConn until the very end but they were simply unable to get it done and came up short. BC is just 1-4 on the season but they have been involved in several close games. Ryan Anderson had 22 points and seven rebounds on Thursday to lead the Eagles. Olivier Hanlan had 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, Alex Dragicevich ad 10 points and three rebounds, and Lonnie Jackson had eight points. Boston College shot 39.6 percent from the floor and 32 percent from beyond the three-point arc but they made 96 percent from the free throw line. Boston College clearly has premier front line scorers but it is just a matter of getting it done in the end.
Washington is 5-1 against the spread following a game which they didn’t cover the point spread, 5-1 against the spread against the ACC, and 1-5 against the spread in their last six non-conference games. Boston College is 2-6 against the spread following a game which they covered the point spread, 1-4 against the spread in their last five non-conference games, and 1-5 against the spread in their last six games.
Boston College has shown the ability to play in close games but not win them so my play here is on Washington as a mild underdog.
