The Chaminade Silverswords host the Maui Classic with the Baylor Bears as their opening round opponent.
Chaminade might be the best known Div II team in the game with a few upsets of some big names as the host the Maui Classic. The Silverswords reside in the Pacific West Conference where they have gone 2-0 in the early going. The offense has put 82 points on the scoreboard in both wins after knocking off Saint Martin's 82-63 nearly two weeks ago. Both teams connected at around 41% from the floor which was fine for Chaminade who sank nine threes and owned a 25-13 advantage at the charity stripe. Kiran Shasti pored in a game high 21 points off a 6-10 effort from long range while Rhys Murphy connected for 13 points and five pulls with Lee Bailey and AJ Mathew combining for 21 points.

Baylor is off to a perfect 4-0 start as they try to improve upon their #20 ranking. Through four games the Bears have shown the ability to score and defend at times but I believe both areas need more consistency. Baylor defeated Charleston Southern 69-64 in a game most thought would be a blow out but wasn't because BU struggled to find the range with 41% shooting. The Buccaneers had even more problems at 35% but hit 12 bombs to stay close but lost it at the line where the Bears hit 12 more free throws. Corey Jefferson and Isaiah Austin each scored 16 points and combined for 19 rebounds with Brady Heslip and Gary Franklin adding another 19 points with Franklin grabbing five boards and handing out five assists.
I don't think Chaminade has the firepower to match Baylor so the spread will probably be on the high side. I can say right now I would probably take the over without knowing what the spread is...
